Maulana Azad Central Library is one of the oldest Public library in Bhopal. Recognized as a distinguished library in the state of Madhya Pradesh. Since 1955 the library has served the people who are curious to gain knowledge. Like library, the Building of library has its own history, being one of the finest architecture design of early 20th century, this building was constructed in 1908 by Sultan Jahan Begum of Bhopal. At present the library has a collection of more than 1 lakh books, Beside Hindi and English Language books this library has unique collection on Sanskrit, Persian and Urdu languages books. This library is a hub for students preparing for different competitive exams, with a active sitting capacity for near about 600 members, the present register members are about 9000. The main Building comprises of newspaper reading room and a Seminar hall. Adjoining to it the library has two other reading halls. read more
